Brandywine Grove

Located in Sugarcreek, Ohio, Brandywine Grove was designed as a high-end rental property with a clear architectural vision. The goal was to create a home that feels considered in every room, while still holding up to repeated use. Cabinetry plays a central role in carrying that vision through the space.

Across the home, multiple cabinet styles and construction approaches are used, each tailored to the room it serves. Rather than forcing a single look throughout, the cabinetry responds to the architecture, materials, and function of the space.

Custom Cabinetry That Comes Together

In the bar area, cabinetry is built into a stone arch, creating a defined focal point. Painted cabinet bases keep the look grounded, while open wood shelving adds warmth and keeps frequently used items within reach. The island introduces a different detail with vertical fluting, bringing texture and a more furniture-driven feel into the room.

In the kitchen, the approach shifts. Natural wood cabinetry with recessed panel doors ties into the surrounding stone and brings a lighter tone to the space. The construction is more traditional, with an emphasis on durability and everyday function.

Other areas, including bathrooms and secondary spaces, continue that pattern. Styles adjust, but proportions, materials, and detailing stay consistent enough that the home feels connected.

Details That Support Daily Use

Beyond the overall look, the success of a project like this comes down to execution. Storage is built around how the space will actually be used, with drawer organization, open shelving, and accessible layouts throughout.

Small details matter. Integrated features like toe kick registers are worked directly into the cabinetry, maintaining function without interrupting the design. Hardware is selected for durability and consistency, and finishes are chosen to hold up over time in a rental environment.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Projects like this require coordination between builder, designer, and cabinetmaker from the beginning. Every room has different needs, and each decision builds on the next. Cabinet styles, materials, and construction methods all need to be aligned with the broader vision of the home. It’s a clear example of what happens when design intent is carried through, room by room, without compromise.
